Salvation
How to get to Heaven
Just follow “The Roman Road To Heaven”
How do I get to go to heaven? How do I ‘get saved’? What is this “salvation” you’re talking about?
All of these questions can easily be answered just by simply looking into God’s Word. You wouldn’t
normally start out on a trip to an unknown location without first looking at a road map would you?
Well, God gave us a special ‘road map’ to show all of us ‘His plan’ for our lives; it’s called “The Roman
Road to Salvation”. This is a simple way to understand what God thinks about us and how to come
into agreement with Him about our lives according to the Word of God. Anyone that truly wants to
know how to get to heaven just needs to follow this simple, easy to understand ‘road map’ and begin
to live the life God planned for you to live from the beginning of time.
It was said, during the Roman Empire, that "All roads lead to Rome". Some might even say that about
Heaven today, but do "All Roads” really lead to Heaven? Is that really true, or is there only ‘one way’
to get to Heaven? Let’s go one step farther.
The Bible not only tells us ‘how to go to Heaven’, it also clearly shows us that “Jesus is the only way to
get to go to Heaven”. In John 14;6 Jesus said, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes
‘to the Father’ except through me.” That means Jesus is the key for getting to Heaven.
Okay, are you ready to start your trip?
Alright then, let’s take a look at “The Roman Road to Heaven” and you can decide for yourself.
1. Why can't we all just ‘go to Heaven’?
Because we are... “all sinners” condemned to death by what happened in the Garden of Eden in the
beginning of time. Adam and Eve sinned and that condemned all of mankind by their sin.
The Bad News
Romans 3:23 says,
“For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God”.
Romans 3:10 says,
“As it is written, There is none righteous, no not one”.
Therefore we must then conclude that in our ‘natural state’, God sees us as ‘lost sinners’ that are
headed somewhere other than Heaven. Unfortunately, the only other place we can go is Hell.
2. Alright then , where will we go if we’re not going to Heaven?
Romans 6:23 says,
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord”.
This means that we are all ‘born into sin’ because Adam and Eve sinned in the garden and that causes
each one of us to be condemned along with them. The result is that we are all bound for Hell unless
we can be ‘pardoned for our sins’.
Since the Bible says the "Second Death" sends us to the “Lake of Fire", death in this verse means that
when we sin now, we will pay for it later in Hell.
3. Then how do we avoid this terrible death and torment? How can we go to Heaven when we die?
The Good News
Romans 5:8 says
“But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us”.
So…this is how our ‘debt’ for our sins gets paid and how we get “saved” from our sin and eternal
death.
Realize your condition before God as a sinner; condemned to pay for your sins by going to Hell; the eternal
death. Now see that God loves you ‘in spite of your sins’ (“while we were yet sinners”), and sent Jesus to take
the punishment for your sins on Himself and die instead of you; don’t you see He took your place.
After you acknowledge these things in your heart please read on.
John 3:16 says
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him
should not perish but have everlasting life”.
This is the greatest love anyone can ever show. Jesus took our place on the cross so that we don’t go
to Hell.
But there is a way out; a way to be saved from that terrible place of torment and pain.
Romans 10:9-10, 10:13 says
“…If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in thine heart that God has raised
him from the dead, Thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and
with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 10:13, For whosoever shall call upon the name of
the Lord shall be saved”.
God calls ‘accepting Christ’ as being ‘saved’.
It is trusting in what God says in His word and then doing something about it.
4. What Exactly Do I Do Now?
If you realize that you are lost and you believe that Jesus actually died for your sins, all you have to do
right now is ask God to forgive you and ask Him to save you. It is that simple.
Pray the following prayer and mean it and you will be saved.
Dear God:
I now know that I'm a sinner and because I am, I know that I deserve to go to Hell. But Lord, You sent
Jesus, Your only son, to die for me and my sins and I also know that I can be saved from Hell by
accepting You as my savior. I believe that Jesus died and rose again and that He is with You in Heaven.
I ask you now to forgive my sins, once and for all as I receive Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.
Please come into my heart and save me and restore me and help me to know that I am your child,
saved by grace. With Your help I will live for You for the rest of my life. In Jesus' Name I pray, Amen.
See, wasn’t that easy? Now you will be going to Heaven!
Remember...”Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved".
You ‘called’ and you got what God said you would get; forgiveness and salvation!
Now that you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Please go to our “Contact Page”
